Ferran Adrià

Ferran Adrià
Ferran Adrià is a self-taught Spanish chef born in Santa Eulalia, near Barcelona, on May 14, 1962. Young, he prefers football to cooking. He discovered by chance cooking through a small job he did as a youth. He entered for the first time at elBulli in 1983 to do an internship. His talent was noticed by Juli Soler who offered him a post of party leader the following year. Since, Ferran Adria became chef of elBulli, one of the very best in the world and even a full-fledged artist as evidenced by his participation in the contemporary art exhibition "Documenta" in Kassel, Germany in 2007. In 2011, he decided jointly with Juli Soler to close El Bulli and to turn it into a foundation: ElBullifoundation. The latter is dedicated to gastronomy and is a center of creativity and sharing of ideas through the Internet. Its slogan is: Freedom to create (in Spanish, Libertad para crear).
